Coleman Construction & Utilities Limited has a requirement for a talented Estimator. For the role of Estimator, you will need 5-years’ demonstrable experience as an Estimator preferably with a Civil Engineering background. Your role will be to generate our Civils estimates, working closely with our Managing QS and Operations Director to cultivate both new and existing clients. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to manage, refine and develop our estimating system, as we prepare for our next exciting stage of growth.

We are a privately owned Civil Engineering contractor, working in the water, highways and river and marine sectors, with a number of live sites at any one time. We are looking for a self-motivated professional to join our team who is able to work autonomously but collaboratively to manage and maintain the estimating function, and to ensure all tender returns are of a high quality, and that tender return dates are met in alignment with company objectives.

Key Measures of Success

• Tenders being returned on time.
• Tenders being submitted to a high level of quality and in accordance with the company requirements for each offer.

Areas of Responsibility

• Management, development and implementation of the Company’s Causeway estimating system.
• Liaise and interface with clients at the tender stage.
• Make recommendations to the company for system improvements.
• Customer Relationship Management of existing and new customers.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

• Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in an Estimating role, preferably in a Civil Engineering environment
• A recognised Estimating qualification is preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Good interpersonal skills
• An ability to build relationships and influence people at all levels
• An ability to understand and interpret the requirements of the client
