Coleman Construction & Utilities Limited has a directly employed civil engineering team of River and Marine (River and Coastal) specialists. Working in these environments presents challenges rarely found with dryland civil engineering.
We can be engaged under a framework, for an individual project, or through a term maintenance agreement. Our experience covers extensive works with the Environment Agency, when we were the civil engineering delivery partner of Jackson Civil Engineering.
Our civil engineering activities embrace the watercourse and cover a range of programmes including:
- flood defence works
- canal maintenance
- riverbank improvements and re-profiling
- wall reconstruction
- scour protection
- surfacing works
Our capabilities in river and marine include, but are not limited to:
- Site Clearance – including initial site preparation and clearance works
- Site Enabling – installation of haul roads and the subsequent removal and reinstatement on completion
- Groundworks – including, site clearance, bulk excavation, dewatering, earthwork support and disposal of excavated material
- Temporary Works – full temporary works design, supply and installation
- Drainage – supply and installation of all types of drainage. All drainage is tested and surveyed on completion
- Foundations – in-situ, precast and reinforced solutions including strips, pads, pile caps, ground beams and raft types
- Reinforced Concrete Construction Works – formwork, rebar and concrete provision for both substructure and superstructure works
- Road Construction – road and pavement construction works including traffic management
- Building – brickwork construction
- Hard and Soft Landscaping – including planting, laying topsoil, turfing and seeding
- External Works – hoarding, fencing and gates both temporary and permanent including palisade and close boarded fence types
