Coleman Construction & Utilities Limited is part of the Coleman Construction Group of brands and provide a fully managed civil engineering service offering for the water sector. The company employ resources specifically trained to work on both clean and dirty water sites. All clean water operatives carry EUSR cards, and the entire workforce is fully accredited for the tasks they undertake and the plant that they operate.
Construction & Utilities Limited is the preferred civils partner of CMDP – the joint venture between Costain and MWH Treatment – who are an appointed framework partner of Southern Water to provide clean water supply services and wastewater treatment.
One of these sites is Hailsham South, where Coleman Construction & Utilities Limited is currently delivering a programme of site enabling works and substructure civils, including earthworks, drainage, and reinforced concrete works at this site.
Environmental performance is crucial, with the team targeting zero waste off site through specialist earth moving, grading and bunding techniques.
Below is a report of September’s activities at Hailsham South:
Primary Ferric Area
- The primary ferric area has been progressed to near completion with the base slab, containment area, hard standings and footpaths all poured.
- All surrounding areas have been landscaped, topsoiled and seeded ready for the delivery of the Ferric Kiosk. Once commissioned Coleman Construction & Utilities Limited will return to demolish the existing kiosk and its base slabs. The new alkalinity dosing area can then be constructed.
Lagoon/Habitat Area
- Topsoiling is almost complete in this area with newly built habitat hotels and bee bunds placed along the new pond which is now filling naturally.
Polymer Dosing Area Completion
- Works have now been able to be completed after the delivery of the polymer dosing kiosk, with access ramps, shingle fill and armco barrier installed.
