Coleman Construction & Utilities Limited has re-commenced works at its Hailsham North site. The civils delivery team – managed by Keith Stumer – are now a few weeks into constructing a new Primary Ferric Dosing area at this wastewater management site on behalf of valued client CMDP.
The scope of civil engineering works covers the following activities:
- Construction of a reinforced concrete base slab for a Ferric Kiosk
- Building an interceptor chamber using concrete rings with a concrete surround
- Modifications to the existing road to construct the new delivery bund for Ferric deliveries
- Constructing cable draw pits and ductwork
- Installation of a concrete base and drain for an emergency shower
Works have been challenging, but nevertheless progressing well, as the Coleman Construction & Utilities team has encountered an unexpected number of existing services whilst scanning the work areas using their cable avoidance equipment. All services found have now been fully recorded and passed onto the client for their as-built documentation.
The work scope also includes installation of 620m of new potable water main into the site to upgrade the existing line and increase its pressure – using 90mm protecta line PE electro fusion pipe.
