Coleman Construction and Utilities Limited has made excellent progression over the last month with its Wastewater Civil Engineering project at Hailsham South, for client CMDP.
Site Manager Will Weiner, has reported the following progress for February 2021:
Tertiary Treatment Inlet Pipework
- Catchpit No.3 was excavated, and all temporary works were installed. Catchpits Nos. 2 and 3 will now be connected with a new 900mm pipe to the existing main.
- Shuttering and reinforcement was completed for a new 900mm deep valve slab
- Backfilling was also completed, to enable specialist sub-contractor Swan Pipeline to drill into the existing main while live (hot tapping).
Tertiary Treatment Polymer Dosing, Actisand and Wash Water Booster Area
- Concrete roadway construction was started with sub-base and shuttering installed -using road formers – and the first concrete bay poured to provide access to the Polymer Dosing Kiosk.
- Actisand Silo slab services were installed, concrete blinding and shuttering completed, and reinforcement commenced.
- Wash Water Booster Kiosk vegetation clearance works were completed under a Southern Water environmental watching brief. The ground was then excavated, services installed, sub-base placed, and concrete blinding completed.
Inlet Works Road Widening
- The inlet works road widening area was cleared of dense vegetation and the topsoil was stripped, under a watching environmental brief from Southern Water.
- The area was then excavated, and the existing services were located and diverted as required.
