With Site Manager Steve Ball at the helm, assisted and supported by our Contracts Manager Will Weiner, we are pleased to confirm our Gravesend project teams have met a number of key milestones since our news update at the end of last year. All works have been delivered to the highest quality, without incident.

Storm Tank Area
The storm tank area is now complete, including the reinforced concrete (RC) retaining walls, slabs, and hardstandings. These areas have been cleared to allow other contractors to install the steel tank, associated piping, and gantries for stairs and pipe supports. The tank is currently undergoing testing and will be ready in time for Principal Contractor CMDP – JV to meet the completion date.

Pipe Installations
A total of 186m of 400mm ductile iron pipework has been successfully installed and pressure tested. This pipe will connect the newly installed pumping station to the storm tank. The pumping station, along with its RC valve slab, has been completed and is now ready for mechanical installation of the permanent pipework. Temporary over-pumping is also in place to ensure compliance with the scheduled regulatory date.

Palisade Fencing
The palisade fencing, which was initially removed at the start of the project, has now been reinstated along the line of the new pipe run.

LVA Kiosk
Excavation for the LVA kiosk has been completed, with RC works installed. The final pour for the top base slab is scheduled for next week to meet the delivery date for the kiosk and panel.

Pump Station Area
RC retaining walls are under construction at the pump station area. Once these are completed, backfilling can proceed, and the palisade fence will be fully reinstated. Hardstandings and footpaths will then be installed to finish the area.
