Coleman Rail Praised for its Covid Working Practices

As a safety critical railway resource supplier, Coleman Rail has been working very closely with its rail clients to ensure the continued health and wellbeing of its key workers, when delivering these crucial services.

Coleman Rail has worked continuously throughout the entire pandemic, supporting rail industry partners with the upgrade and maintenance of the railway infrastructure – keeping key workers moving throughout these difficult times.

The team at Coleman Rail has had many new health and safety challenges to solve both on and off site. Its number one priority has been to ensure that all employees stay safe and keep well. A Covid-19 policy and number of new processes have been established to ensure the safety of all personnel on site. These have ranged from social distancing measures and PPE, to paperless safe work packs and digital signatures.

These initiatives have received high praise from partner Osborne Rail, with Matt Hewett, Rail Assurance Manager, providing the following testimony:

“I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you! The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic situation has posed unprecedented challenges for all companies working on Network Rail’s infrastructure. Coleman and Osborne are responding to extraordinary circumstances and challenges to keep the Sussex and Kent routes in their best conditions as well as maintaining the safety of staff and the public. With this in mind, I would like to thank Coleman Rail for their efforts over the past 12 months. As a company, you have demonstrated how well your company and staff have adapted to a new way of working, embracing the new processes being implement during this pandemic. There have been so many positive elements from all involved whether this has been ensuring social distancing on our sites, undertaking COVID briefings or supplying welfare to remote stations.

“We hope that both Osborne and Coleman can be a benchmark for all companies during these difficult times. Once again, thank you.”
